Heather Asch is a four time Emmy Award winning puppet performer and builder. She has puppeteered on Sesame Street, Between the Lions, Johnny and the Sprites, and Allegra’s Window. Some companies Heather has worked for as a puppet artist include The Jim Henson Company, Sesame Workshop, Nickelodeon, Disney, and 3/Design Studios. Asch has worked as a puppet builder on many Muppet projects, including The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, Animal Jam, and Sesame Street.
Asch is a graduate of The University of Connecticut’s Puppet Arts Program, and she has created her own puppetry pieces, including Bosom Buddies, which deals with the subject of breast cancer. Asch performed Bosom Buddies at “A Passion For Puppetry”, a tribute benefit to Nikki Tilroe in January 2006.
Asch currently serves as executive producer, puppeteer and puppet build coordinator for No Strings Productions, a not–for-profit production company that makes educational puppet films for at-risk children world-wide. Film subjects include child protection, health, trauma, HIV /AIDS, disaster preparation for earthquakes, tsunamis, flood, landslides, landmine safety, and peace building.
